ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jasmin Heard is a mixed media artist who specialises in oil painting, ceramics and photography. She studied Fine Art at Bath Spa Univeristy, and graduated at home during the 2020 lockdown. She is now one of 5 Directors of the Southern Nature Art Exhibition - the largest nature art exhibition in the UK.
Passionate about the natural world, her art has always centered around human relationship with the environment - topics such as; plastic pollution, oil spills, deforestation and coral bleaching. Coral reefs have been the subject of her work for the past 7 years, and aims to raise more awareness of the alarming decline of reefs around the world. Her latest oil paintings feature glow in the dark pigments as a beautiful but sad reference to how corals glow when they are stressed and trying to cling to survival.
